How the two love birds met
Our story began in a little church, as we had arrived to rehearse “Beauty and The Beast”. Sherrie sitting on one of the pew, and as fate would have it, Seattle sitting beside her. Through rehearsals, car rides, pancakes, and spiders, the two would find themselves always near each other. There would be walks in the moonlight to get to know each other, dancing around the question of will they or wont they.
Since you are reading this you know the answer. Sherrie found herself very taken by Seattle and thank goodness she did! Their the love grew and grew over the last nine years and has become their stronghold ever since. and now cannot wait to be married and be able to experience everything life has to offer.
The Proposal
“A Proposal is never late, nor is it early, it arrives precisely when it means to” ~ Seattle misquoting The Grey Wizard
Some might say 8 years is a long time to wait. Many did make small hints to Seattle about proposing, others made not so small hints about proposing. I like to think it happened at the right moment.
During 2024, a golden ring was acquired. Kept safely in Seattle’s breast pocket he awaited for the right moment. Many times his lips had to stay sealed while hints, questions, and “conversations” were had. Trips to the gardens and dinners where he would try find this moment. A simple trip to Auckland presented itself as an opportunity. Perhaps the waterfront? Perhaps the Museum?
“Have you been to the Winter Garden before?” Turns out there is a Winter Garden in Auckland, and it was currently winter. Bingo! Sherrie admired the flowers, Seattle was on a mission to find his moment. Tourists bumbled around, the glasshouses had tropical plants but the Roman gardens looked like they would be better suited for spring. “Bummer, well there is always next..” There it was, The Fernery, a quiet walk through lush native flora. A small seat in the heart of the bush. The wind died down, the other walkers had disappeared. She none the wiser. The moment had arrived, and the question was asked.
Well, you know the answer she gave.
